Headhunterz Arrested In Kenyan National Park In International Smuggling Sting Operation

Dutch EDM producer Headhunterz is being held in a Kenyan prison after he was arrested in an international sting operation targeting the illegal ivory trade.

Kenyan police swooped early this morning and arrested twelve men including Headhunterz, real name Willem Rebergen, who was visiting Hell’s Gate National Park, north west of Nairobi, disguised as a safari tourist.

In an exclusive interview with Wunderground an anonymous source close to the DJ revealed Headhunterz double life, “The ivory trade is a lucrative business, Wiilem had a chance to get involved and he grabbed it with both hands.”

“He came up with the idea of Headhunterz as a front to cover up his smuggling career,” claimed the source. “It seemed like the best way to launder obscene amounts of money and travel the world without attracting the attention of the authorities, I tried to tell him to pick another name, that Headhunterz was too obvious but he wouldn’t listen, he liked to push the boat out as far as he could and I guess it finally caught up with him.”

“It’s obvious when you actually listen to to the music. Anyone with even the slightest bit of knowledge about electronic music could tell that Headhunterz tracks are made from a cheap and tacky formula that takes little or no creative input, “continued the anonymous informant. “His album Sacrifice was actually written by a homeless man who was payed twenty five euro’s, four grams of weed and two double cheeseburgers.”

“Willem never thought the music thing would take off the way it has but you can never under estimate the stupidity of EDM fans, he’s been playing shows all over the world and doing a lot of networking,” continued the source. “This has allowed him to build a vast network of ivory buyers and he’s really been pushing it the last couple of years. Now he’s started to travel to Africa himself, he shared a bill with DJ Sneak last year and now he thinks he’s an expert on wild animals.”

“He’s a major player and he was going to Kenya to pick up a large shipment that was potentially worth millions of dollars,” he continued. “I guess the only thing that will be going on the market now is his skinny white ass in a Kenyan prison. He’ll be passed around like currency in there.”

Kenyan police have confirmed that this morning’s arrests were made after they received a tip off from fellow Dutch DJ Afrojack, who was himself raised in the wild by African elephants until the age of sixteen when he was discovered and reintroduced into human society.
