Belgian-Greek EDM money whores Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have reportedly applied for split custody of their USB stick amidst rumours that the sibling duo are about to split.
The application was made to Belgium’s Family Court early last week and could spell the end for the duo – who were voted into the number two slot in last year’s DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll.
According to sources close to the brothers, their relationship has seriously deteriorated in recent months after Dimitri caught Mike farting on his pillow late last year.
“I think Mike was angry with Dimitri because he called him a douche in front of Paris Hilton,” explained close friend and fellow EDM shitehawlk Afrojack. “So he decided to get his own back by dropping an f-bomb on his pillow. Big mistake! Dimitri hates farts and he walked in just as he was letting it rip.”
“They just haven’t been the same since, if it wasn’t for the USB I’m sure they would have split up months ago.”
The USB, which the brothers have named Alfie, is said to contain every mix the duo have ever pre-recorded as well as every track that has ever been ghost written for them.
“The guys have a real sentimental attachment to the USB, it’s been with them since the very start,” continued Afrojack. “I asked them would they not just copy everything that’s on it onto another USB so they could both have one but Mike just screamed ‘how could you say that?’ and then both of them burst into tears. It’s a very tricky situation.”
According to litigator Frieda Goossens, both DJs have applied for weekend custody of the USB stick, “Neither of the guys want the USB during the week, probably because there are more gigs to be played at the weekend and they both want solo careers. Thy’re going to have to come up with an alternative agreement or this will end up gong to the courts.”
“This could be the beginning of a drawn out and traumatic experience for the brothers and poor little Alfie,” she continued with genuine empathy. “Normally in custody cases the court will side with the mother, which in this case would be Mike on account of his high pitched voice and general bitchiness but there are a lot of extenuating circumstances to be taken into account here so it’s impossible to say which way the court’s decision will go.”
