DJ Hoping To Remain Underground By Not Trying Very Hard To Get Noticed

A semi-ambitious DJ, who has yet to play outside of his bedroom but hopes to play a small local club someday, has revealed a foolproof plan which will see him stay true to his underground roots by not trying very hard to get noticed.

David Harrison, an eighteen year old student from Nottingham, England, claims that the worse thing any DJ could ever do is sell out and believes that by never making it big, he will never be tempted to take the easy route in favour of money.

“Staying underground is very, very important to me,” revealed David earlier today.”I got my decks for Christmas two years ago and, at the moment, I’m down to practicing one day a week. My mam’s been going mad at me because I promised her that, if she bought them for me, I’d practice every day but I keep having to tell her that I can’t anymore because I’m an underground DJ.”

“After two years, even with only one day’s practice a week, I’m pretty good,” claimed the English literature student. “I haven’t really told any of the local promoters that I’m a DJ yet because I don’t want to be rushed into any gigs, but I’m easily as good as, if not better, than most of the top commercial DJs in the world and those lads are selling out massive shows all the time. That’s not me though, I’m proper underground, when I do finally come up with a DJ name for myself it’ll probably be something like DJ Magma Core or Lee Fossil Fuel, just so people know how underground I am.”

“I reckon I’ll probably start DJing in clubs and that when I’m about twenty eight,” continued Mr Harrison. “That way, I’ll be really experienced and I won’t have to prove myself as a young DJ. I should be a well accomplished underground DJ by then and, hopefully, having flown under the radar for almost twelve years, I’ll take the local scene by storm, at least three times a year.”

“It’s never been about the money for me,” added Harrison. “Probably because I’ve never made any, but I’d like to think that, even if I did, I’d stay true to the music and keep myself undergound. I’d rather never make a penny than play any of that EDM horseshite.”

Other ways Mr Harris plans on staying underground include; possibly living in a basement apartment or underground bunker, steering clear of self promotion on social media, not recording promo mixes and not sucking up to asshole promoters.
