One Third Of Guests At Adam Beyer & Ida Engberg’s Wedding At Berghain Rejected At Doors

According to reports from Germany, approximately one third of the guests invited to Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg’s wedding reception, held in Berlin’s Berghain nightclub, were turned away at the door.

A number of high profile personalities from the DJing community, including techno stalwarts and Berghain regulars Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock, were among those rejected by security.

Wunderground caught up with a teary eyed Engberg earlier, “I’m so upset, I’ve been planning this day for my entire life and I really just wanted it to go off without any problems. My original plans didn’t really involve men in leather chaps but it was still supposed to be a really special day. We were told that all of our guests would get in but when they showed up it was a different story, they were turning people away left, right and center.”

“I’ve always been a supporter of Berghain’s door policy,” confirmed the Swedish DJ, “but, being an artist, I’ve never been on the wrong end of it before. They nearly turned me away because my dress wasn’t black enough. It wasn’t fucking black at all, it’s a white wedding dress. They only let me in in the end because I agreed to let one of the doormen wear my suspenders for the night. It was quite humiliating.”

According to sources, after being refused entry to the club Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann walked around the corner and swapped coats before making another unsuccessful run at the door.

“It was no use, we swapped jackets but it was pointless because we were both wearing black suits so they were nearly identical,” explained Dettmann. “The bouncers also know us both quite well so it was never going to work. It’s our own fault, we shouldn’t have been blowing coke up each other’s asses in the queue, but that’s what weddings are all about, we thought we’d be ok because we’re DJs but the security were having none of it. I hope Ida wasn’t too upset.”
