A man has been kicked out of a nightclub by security after asking numerous members of staff for the free wifi code, claiming he was within his “rights as a consumer” to obtain it.

Nineteen year old Toby Cartwright is said to have been “pestering” the bar staff for over two hours, claiming it was “imperative” he got the wife code in order to “truly enjoy” the nightclub experience.

“Those bastards lack basic manners,” said a very annoyed Toby upon exiting the club. “I paid my entrance fee and bought a drink so I think I’m well within my rights to ask for the wifi code. I approached over twenty members of staff who, one by one, told me to put my phone away and have a good time. I don’t think those dumb bastards realise my phone is the pinnacle of my enjoyment.”

“Without access to the internet, what the fuck am I supposed to do?” he asked. “Wifi enables me to live stream the DJ, send SnapChat stories, upload Instagram photos and chat to a few Tinder birds. Without it, I’m just some lemon standing in a club with nothing to do. It’s either that, or I use my own data which is a definite no no.”

Twenty one year old Annabelle Trulove, who works as a barmaid, gave Wunderground her view on what happened, “He was relentless,” she laughed. “I told him we do not have wifi and to just have a drink and a dance but he got angry and accused me of lying, the cheeky bugger. The amount of goons we see standing there, on their phones, rather than interacting with other people in the club is outrageous. Why not just spend your night in an internet café instead of a club?”

“I won’t be going back there,” confirmed Toby. “The vibe is well shit. They expect people to talk to each other, which is just fucking weird. Who wants to get into an awkward dialogue with a stranger in this day and age? Nobody, that’s who.”

Too old to go to raves, too young to retire from them. Where does that leave me? Writing for Wunderground.
