Warring DJ’s Deadmau5 & Tiësto, who fell out spectacularly across social media after Deadmau5’s trolling stunt at last weekend’s Ultra festival in Miami, are reported to have “kissed and made up” after the two agreed to meet in Deadmau5’s hotel room for talks which ended up turning into an intimate shared bubble bath.
Deadmau5 picked up the wrath of the Dutch DJ after he chose to use his replacement performance for Avicii at Ultra as a platform to criticise Martin Garrix’s hit Animals with a parody remix as well as slamming EDM as a genre in his latest outburst on Twitter.
Deadmau5’s comments and behaviour were slammed by Tiësto over Twitter with the Dutch producer rushing to the defense of Martin Garrix and Avicii.
“Things were getting pretty heated between the two,” confirmed a source. “Their comments on Twitter were threatening to spill over into real life and cause real life friction between the two performers who often have to share lineups at some of EDM’s biggest events.”
In an effort to curb any further animosity between the two EDM stars it is believed that an intermediary proposed the idea of having conflict talks “to cool the situation down”.
“It’s not known yet whether it was Tiësto or Deadmau5 who suggested they settle their differences over a shared bubble bath,” continued the source, “but reports suggest that once the suggestion was made both were totally into it.”
Sources close to the incident indicate that both men stripped naked and climbed into the bubble bath “face to face with their legs crossing over and touching” so that they could look each other in the eye while discussing the issues between them.
“There was a brief moment when I thought Deadmau5 was going to flick suds in Tiësto’s eyes or urinate into the water,” continued the insider who was present for the incident and claims to have helped towel both men off. “But thankfully that never happened as Deadmau5, in a surly but conciliatory tone said he was sorry about what he said and that he wanted to be friends again.”
It is believed that Tiësto then apologised for being “mean” and said that even though Deadmau5 started it he was impressed with his apology and that it took a lot of balls to apologise and share a tiny bathtub with another grown man which was something he respected.
According to the source “things went off without a hitch after that” with both men “giggling and splashing around” before Deadmau5 showed a rapt Tiësto his many tattoos. “At one point they sponged each other down and made a promise to be friends forever, which was sweet.”
Reports from both camps suggest that the two DJ’s have firmly put the incident behind them and “made friends again” in the hope that they might even one day perform together.
