A DJ in Staffordshire, England, has applied to remortgage his house in an attempt to raise the funds needed to buy the eagerly anticipated, Richie Hawtin designed PLAYdifferently mixer.
Barry Greaves, voted Tamworth’s twelfth best techno DJ at the Annual Tamworth Techno Awards 2012, is hoping to raise his profile by being the first Staffordshire based DJ to use the mixer, which will be available to buy later this summer for a cool £2,500.
“I’m definitely going to have to get my hands on one of those PLAYdifferently mixers,” claimed an excited Mr Greaves earlier. “I can’t really afford to pay the £2,500 but after seeing it in the hands of the some of the world’s biggest DJs all over my Facebook news feed yesterday I don’t really have a choice, do I? I guess I’ll just have to bite the bullet and remortgage the gaff.”
“Once people see that I’m using it in my sets I’m bound to get a few more bookings around Tamworth. Who knows, I might even get a couple of gigs in Stoke-on-Trent or, if I’m really lucky, Lichfield,” continued Greaves, a.k.a. Greaves Lightening, enthusiastically. “The world, or at least the greater Staffordshire area, is my oyster.”
According to finance experts, other ways members of the public will be able to afford the PLAYdifferently mixer include; robbing a bank or cash in transit van, building and sustaining a small drug distribution ring for approximately three years, selling a vital organ on the black market and becoming a high class prostitute.
