Latino hip swinger Ricky Martin has shocked the world of dance music by taking top spot in the Beatport Deep House chart with his monster floor filler, Livin’ La Vida Loca.
The track, widely considered to be a potential Deep House classic, has received support from some of the biggest names in house music including Jamie Jones, Hot Since 82 and Eats Everything with the latter claiming that he “can’t wait to bang this out on Bora Bora in the summer”.The track, like much of the current trend of so-called Deep House, takes its cue from 90s classic house and UK garage.
“It’s the sexiest track ever made,” enthused one fan. “When I hear it, it’s a struggle not to take my clothes off and go dancing in the rain, it just has that effect.”
“Ricky is such a genius, some people have doubted his dance music pedigree in the past, but I think with this undoubtedly monster Deep House track he’s put the haters in their place.”
“Some of the current big Deep House tracks are arguably crossover hits,” he continued, “But this is the true underground, deep shit. I first heard it on Jimpster’s Freerange Podcast myself.”
Online blogs are already buzzing with excitement around this predicted Deep House classic with some including Hypemachine calling it the “track of the year” and claiming that it’s “the best, purest Deep House track we’ve heard since Cher’s monster smash, Believe”.
Ricky made a quick comment on the success of the track while preparing for a monster seven hour back to back set with techno maestro, Enrique Iglesias, saying, “I never really considered the track to be Deep House but then someone told me that everything is Deep House now so I guess it fits.”

I don’t think it’s deep house!
