Morning TV presenter and object of millions of OAP’s lust, Eamonn Holmes, has recorded a drum and bass album made entirely with the rumblings of his stomach.
Holmes, best known for his striking resemblance to a potato, is set to release the album on Chase & Status’s MTA Records this summer.
Irishman Holmes is believed to have discovered the potential of his “overly aggressive stomach” during a segment on Indian food on This Morning last year.
“I was trying a rather delicious lamb biryani when I heard my stomach make a really impressive rumbling that sounded a bit like a Roni Size track I used to listen to,” explained Holmes during a chat with Wunderground. “When I listened back to the recording after the show I knew there was potential there to make the album.”
“The album took around eight months to record,” continued Holmes. “Most of which was me eating curries with a microphone sellotaped to my stomach. It was a little bit uncomfortable and impractical at times, but it captured some really great organic sounds and I’m very happy with the end result.”
“Naturally there are a few non-stomach related sounds that made it onto the album, the occasional fart, a belch here and there, and my balls slapping my wife’s arse – but it all adds to the feel of the album.”
The album, set to be titled Music From Within, is due for release on 1st June.
Holmes is believed to be spending April and May eating various curries in India in preparation for a tour to accompany the album’s release that will see him play his unique live show at a number of Britain’s top festivals.
