Armin van Buuren has become the latest DJ to troll an entire crowd by getting paid $100,000 to stand in front of them and do fuck all.
Dutchman van Buuren pulled off the ballsy stunt playing at the Cavo Paradiso Club in Mykonos, Greece earlier this week.
“Did you see what I did? It was really brilliant, those poor saps in the audience had absolutely no idea I was trolling them, that was some of my best ever work,” claimed van Buuren recently.
“I pretty much just stood there with my arms in the Jesus position for two hours.” continued Armin, who’s actually much more of an arms out kind of guy. “Sometimes, when I stand like Jesus for so long I start to believe that I am Jesus but then I have to tell myself ‘come on Armin, did Jesus ever get to number one on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll?’ of course he didn’t, I did. I’m far bigger than he could ever be.”
“I pulled the stunt in Greece because I know those guys don’t mind getting a little bit fucked over when it comes to money,” explained the DJ, who claims he is worth a $100,000 fee because he likes expensive stuff and just because. “I never would have tried that in a country like Germany or Holland, where the audiences’ parents definitely would have known I was up to something.”
Trance star van Buuren, went onto explain that he has a “very busy” summer schedule and will probably troll another seventy five to eighty percent of his gigs, to ensure he doesn’t burn himself out ahead of his down time in the fall.
