Shots have been fired between Green Velvet and Cajmere after the former accused the later of being boring and claimed his set at Leeds’s Mint Festival would be “flat and shitty”.
Despite the two artists being the same person, Curtis Alan Jones, they have a long history of “beef” and have even been known to come to blows over who is the best DJ.
“Cajmere is totally shit, Im not talking about a BigMac thats slightly cold shit or David Guetta’s hair shit I’m talking Calvin Harris on sleeping tablets driving a train full of cute babies off a cliff shit,” claimed Green Velvet during an exclusive chat with Wunderground. “He’s always coming around my gigs and shooting his mouth off about how he’s the best DJ out of the two of us. Honestly, I don’t know where he’s getting this rubbish from. He’d be nothing if it wasn’t for me.”
“Everyone knows I got him the gig at Mint festival,” claimed an angry Green Velvet. “The only reason I’m in there is because nothing says ‘minty’ like a shocking dash of bright green hair and the only reason he got in was because he happens to be me. It’s not rocket science – it’s hairdressing.”
According to Cajmere, Green Velvet is nothing but a “loud mouth” who has no talent other than a “quirky hairstyle”.
“Green Velvet is a total mouth piece,” claimed Cajmere during the same exclusive chat with Wunderground. “He’s basically the Mario Balotelli of the dance music world. All style and no substance. My set at Mint festival is going to be so much better than his, just you wait and see.”
“I guarantee you I’ll have guys like Sven Väth, Luciano and Eats Everything rocking out to my set,” insisted Cajmere. “While Green Velvet will be lucky if he’s able to keep Ricardo Villalobos awake, which is literally one of the easiest things to do in the world.”
According to sources within Mint Festival, they have had to insist that both stars do not attend the festival on the same day, with Green Velvet only permitted to enter on the 19th of Spetember, while Cajmere’s attendance is limited to the festival’s second, and final, day on the 20th of September.
