In shocking news, it has been revealed that less than ten percent of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs are actually DJs.
DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list has been viewed as the “who’s who” of EDM for much of the past ten years and ranking on the list can mean a number of lucrative contracts and sponsorship, particularly for DJ’s who take the much coveted spots in the higher echelons of the poll.
However, things could be about to change in the EDM industry after an anonymous whistle blower spilled the beans on the current crop of DJs making up the Top 100.
“When you actually look at the list there are very few actual DJs in there,” explained the unnamed source. “The real DJs only make up about two or three percent of the list, then there’s a further six percent made up of washed up, old, has beens while the other ninety odd percent predominantly made up of schmucks and morons.”
“If we look at Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, this year’s number one, it’s clear that they’re no more a DJ than Donald Duck or a kitchen sink,” continued the whistle blower. “The truth is they were just a couple of slow kids from Belgium who were moulded into the posterboys of a faceless corporation to sell tickets and music to gullible fans who don’t know any better, and it’s worked!”
According to our source, this year’s Top 100 DJs list also includes twenty three bullshit artists, six clowns, four jokers and a Steve Aoki.
