A seven year old man who was born on the 29 February 1984 has claimed to be the world’s youngest professional music producer.
Martin Shields, who turns eight next year, was born in a leap year meaning that he has only celebrated seven birthdays despite being born thirty one years ago.
“I might look like I’m in my thirties but I’m actually only seven,” claimed Shields, who produces under the name Quantum Leap Year. “That’s a full ten years younger than Martin Garrix was when he released Animals, I’m easily the youngest music producer in the world.”
“I’m lucky I look so old because I’d never get the chance to play my music in clubs if the owners knew I was only seven,” continued Shields, who won’t be legally allowed to drink alcohol until 2056 when he will actually be seventy two years old. “That’s one of the advantages of being a leap year baby. I can go to any club in the world and get away with paying a child’s fare on the train on my way there.”
Shields, who decided to focus on a full time career in the music industry in 2012 after a tough separation from his wife, who he later had arrested for statutory rape, claimed that other production prodigies lack the life experience he has gained during his music journal.
“I’m sick of seeing all of these other young producers and DJs doing so well when they really don’t know anything about music or DJing,” scoffed Shields. “I mean look at Garrix, he claims to be a ‘progressive house’ producer but where was he in 2000 when real progressive house was dominating the club scene?”
“He was nowhere mate, not like me, I was up the front left with my top off and I was only four years old,” revealed the producer. “I’ve actually been DJing since I was three and a half and producing music since I was four so, even though I’m still so young, I’m actually quite old school.”
