Wrestlemania Accuses EDM Of “Identity Theft”

Wrestlemania EDM WWE Stone Cold Steve Austin America Europe

Popular American wrestling event Wrestlemania has accused large-scale American EDM shows of “ripping us off, wholesale”.

A statement from the WWE claimed it owned the rights to stadium-sized ego-clashes made up of over-paid, bloated narcissists lummoxing around a stage, following a pre-determined routine that tours, unchanged, from town to town.

A spokesperson for the WWE said, “Homemade signs referencing ‘drops’, people shouting gibberish into microphones, the want to smash someone over the head with a giant wooden chair, visible authority figures turning a blind eye to a high level of illegal activity – we invented this!”

According to sources within EDM, they believe their scene is nothing like that of Wrestlemania and claimed that the WWE were simply trying to skirt the coattails of a burgeoning industry, something EDM would never dream of doing.

“There are no parallels between what we do and what you do,” claimed an EDM insider earlier. “You took a beautiful art form that developed and matured in Europe, then bastardised it into a face-painted, neon-glowing, steroid pumped, inflatable waving joke that is so toxic when you refer to the original craft people mistake it for today’s panto-style kids entertainment. How is that anything like EDM?”

The WWE have yet to respond to EDM’s counter claims, although, the idea that EDM has ripped off Wrestlemania’s identity may have been put to bed after WWE hard man “Stone Cold” Steve Austin said they were “both wrong” followed by a definitive “and that’s the bottom line because Stone Cold said so”.
