The drug, with a chemical name of TIHDv1, is described as 100 times worse that Crystal Meth. It has surfaced in both Europe and the USA and is said to be sweeping clubs and festivals worldwide this summer, wreaking havoc on users wherever it is found. Similar to Crytal Meth, the drug has extremely visible side-effects and can totally alter both a persons appearance and persona within only a few doses. Interpol are warning club owners, festival organizers and the general public to stay on high alert.
The substance has extremely high-traces of the chemical T40SoG, which is a similar compound to the one used in tanning pills, only much more harmful and with completely different effects on the user. T40SoG is highly toxic in this format and is quickly absorbed into the users skin glands via the blood stream. This is caused by the immune system trying to sweat the high levels of toxins out of the system as quickly as possible. When mixed with the moisture from the skin and the carbon dioxide in the air, a chemical reaction occurs (again similar to that effects of tanning pills) turning the traces of T40SoG in the skin a very distinct shade of green which effectively dyes the outer layer of skin, giving the person consuming the drug a bright green appearance. If you notice this symptom in a person, they must be rushed to hospital immediately.
The TIHDv1 drug is synthesized mainly from the traditional anabolic steroid, similar to those used by power lifters. The compound is then bound with the harmful chemical A1oMuD to form a so called legal high that mimics the effects users experience when using MDMA, more commonly known as “Ecstasy”. The anabolic steroid causes the drug to race around the system at increased speeds creating the feeling of euphoria. One very obvious side effect of using such steroids for recreational purposes however, is that when taken in high doses (perhaps stretched out over a weekend) it has the effect of stimulating muscle growth. Muscle growth is the primary function served by anabolic steroids and the reason it is used so frequently within the power lifting circuit, so it comes as no surprise that it would have that effect on users of this new killer drug.
The chemicals effects are also sent into overdrive if the user happens to be taking growth hormones or similar medication at the time of consumption, due to their accelerating effect on the steroids (Power lifters often supplement their training regimes with hormones such as Testosterone for instance, for this exact reason). Interpol are warning users of these supplements to be extra cautious. Clubbers with high levels of testosterone will see much stronger side effects, or if somebody taking the TIHDv1 drug becomes increasingly angry or breaks into a rage, this will increase testosterone levels in the body which can kick start the side effect resulting in substantial tissue growth.
Police have warned clubbers this new killer drug is being sold to unsuspecting users online and at festivals as “plant food” and while not yet technically illegal, is just as dangerous as any other class A drug and should not be consumed under any circumstances.
Patients are presenting in emergency rooms with the following symptoms:
-Dilated pupils
-Possible Green hew to skin and discoloration to the whites of the eyes
-Sweating
-Grinding of the jaw, lashing out, bashing fists
-Paranoid, Delusional, extremely angry and agitated
-If users have been consuming TIHDv1 for a period of some time, enlarged muscle tissue may be visible.
-If the user has become fully addicted over a period of time they may have let themselves go. Ripped clothes and a general disheveled –appearance are signs to look for.
Interpol are warning anybody who thinks they may have come into contact with the drug to present themselves immediately to an emergency room and to under no circumstances mix with any other substances, especially not alcohol. If you think a friend, acquaintance or family member has been using the TIHDv1 drug, bring them immediately to the nearest emergency room, giving the utmost care to keep them calm at all times.
