Dj collective, Major Lazer, have been speaking out about the lack of education provided to the youth of America in relation to drugs and the drug culture which surrounds the underground music scene. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, band member Jillionaire claimed, “we need to teach kids how to do drugs,” and now it seems they will practice what they preach, after announcing plans to open America’s first ever drugs academy.
Major Lazer, made up of Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, spoke of their recent announcement, “Kids in this country just don’t know how to take drugs, it’s sad really, they’re getting it all wrong and perfectly good drugs are going to waste. We’ve all been to Europe, you should see the kids over there taking drugs! They’re experts! One time when I was in Amsterdam I seen this kid, he couldn’t have been more than eleven, make a sweet bong out of a Pringles tube, then he slammed a fat bowl of the finest weed the Dam has to offer. The smoke was so thick and creamy but homie didn’t even cough, he was one ice cold kid,” claimed Diplo enthusiastically.
Walshy Fire continued, “We really want to see American kids educated in taking drugs so that one day they’ll be able to compete with the European kids, that’s what we hope to achieve with the academy. It’s not going to be too much different from a normal school but instead of having class on Fridays we’ll be having parties, where the three of us will show the kids how to take drugs properly,” he explained.
Jillionaire spoke of the content the academy will cover, “We’ll be catering for kids from fifteen to eighteen, the older they are the harder the drugs they’ll be using. So for example, the youngest kids will just be learning how to smoke pot. We’ll teach them how to roll blunts, smoke a bong and the importance of a good rolling box, all the basics. Then the slightly older kids will learn about taking molly and x, we’ll also have a section about prescription drugs. They’ll be really well prepared for their final year, where they’ll learn about using heroin, crack and meth and how to steal and scam so they can support a habit. It’s gonna be really well rounded with something for everyone,” claimed the DJ.
When asked how they planned to fund the academy Diplo responded, “Well the kids will be paying for it, the first lesson will be free but after that, if they want to stay onboard, they’re gonna gave to cough up some green, but we’ll give them a good price and the stuff we get is primo!”
The academy, which they hope to open in fall 2014, will only be available to children who are at a high risk of being exposed to drugs and will therefore mostly be made up by fans of EDM.
