Baha Men Finally Come Clean – They Let The Dogs Out

Bahamian reggae fusion group the Baha Men have confirmed that it was actually them who let the dogs out.

Band member Patrick Carey spilled the beans for the first time since the release of their 2000 hit single Who Let The Dogs Out.

“New Providence, where we’re from in the Bahamas, is a very quiet place,” explained Carey during an interview with Wunderground. “There’s very little for young man to do around there so we had to learn to make our own entertainment, sometimes that meant causing mischief or even getting into trouble but it was all good natured.”

“One day in 1999 myself and a couple of the other guys from the band were really bored so we went to the local dog pound and let all the dogs out,” admitted Carey. “It seemed like a good idea at the time but looking back now it was a bad move. Two hundred and thirty six people were killed by rabid dogs with another two thousand injured or left homeless.”

“It was one of the darkest days in the country’s history,” revealed Carey while wiping a tear from his eye. “Some people say it’s the worst thing to happen to the Bahamas since Sidney Poitier was born, personally I think they’re being a bit over dramatic but it was still quite bad.”

“The only way we’ve been able to live with the guilt for the last sixteen years is knowing that it also inspired one of the greatest songs ever recorded,” he continued. “That and all the money it made us. I don’t care what anyone says, money does buy happiness, particularly if happiness is hookers with fake jugs and cocaine, believe me money can buy a whole lot of that kind of happiness.”

In related news, the Blood Hound Gang have been arrested in Tampa, Florida, after band members were caught fornicating ‘like mammals’ in a public car park.
