Bedroom DJ Planning House Move To Play Bigger Venues

A bedroom DJ from Northampton, England, is believed to planning a house move in order to ply his trade in bigger venues.

Steven Smith, a full time bedroom DJ and part time burger flipper, has been living in the moderately sized front room of a three bed semi-detached house since 2012 but now feels that he has outgrown his residence and believes a house move is the best way to further his career.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here at number fifty four,” explained Steven during a brief catch up with Wunderground, “but I just feel I’ve come as far as I can here and it’s time for me to move on to pastures new. Everyone here has been really great to work with, especially Matthew and Peter, my housemates, without them none of this could have happened, literally, because there’s no way I would have been able to pay the rent by myself.”

“I’ve been looking around for a new place to go and spin some tunes for a while now,” continued Steven, who claims to have known he was a DJ for as long as he can remember. “I just feel like my current bedroom is a bit too small, the max I’ll get in there is about seven or eight people and I really feel like I”m capable of playing in front of double that now.”

”There’s a lovely, big, double bedroom available in a Georgian house down on Windmill Road. It’s great and it’s got lovely high ceiling so I’d imagine the acoustics are awesome,” claimed Mr. Smith. “The rent is a little bit more than here but it’ll be totally worth it, I’ll easily be able to fit fifteen or even twenty people in there so it’ll be well worth it for my reputation. I can definitely see myself as a resident there.”

Speaking on his musical style and influences, Mr. Smith continued, “Felix da Housecat is definitely my biggest influence. I just think it’s really great how a cat has managed to stay at the top of the game for so long. Like him I’ve always been a house DJ, it’s all I know to be honest with you. I did play in a garage one time but as for techno or grime, well I don’t even know what kind of buildings technos or grimes are so I wouldn’t even know where to start.”

According to sources close to Mr. Smith, at the time of going to print the DJ is still in the market for a new home after his proposed move to Windmill Road fell through after it became clear that the “walls were paper thin” and some of the other housemates were “boring as fuck”.
