Bedroom DJ Who Has Never Played A Gig Has 100,000 Fans On Facebook

A 22-year-old bedroom DJ who has never played a gig has amassed over 100,000 fans on Facebook.

Shane Lessley, from Essex, decided to become a DJ six months ago when he set up a Facebook fanpage under the moniker, ShameLess.

“I’ve wanted to be a DJ ever since I saw Calvin Harris moon Jedward on The X-Factor,” explained ShameLess. “Someone said he was a DJ and I thought to myself ‘if someone can upstage a musical tour de force like Jedward that easily, then that’s the job for me’, so I set up the Facebook page and started buying likes.”

Since that time, ShameLess, has bought over 100,000 likes on Facebook without ever actually playing a set. “I don’t even own turntables or have lawnmower or whatever that DJing computer programme is called,” submitted ShameLess, “Being a DJ isn’t about ‘DJing’….it’s about having a wicked social media profile and looking good behind the decks.”

In response to claims that because ShameLess can’t play decks and has only “a passing interest” in dance music, that he is not a real DJ, ShameLess laughed, “Facebook says I’m a DJ. 100,000 likes say I’m a DJ. Years of hard work, graft and knowledge don’t make you a DJ, Facebook does.”

ShameLess went on to explain his future career plans, “I hope to get a high profile residency in Ibiza like Paris Hilton, she’s such a role model for anyone like me who is starting out and isn’t that interested in the actual music side of things.”

“I think my next move will be to try and date a pop star to raise my profile even more. Or do a sex tape. Or do a sex tape with a pop star. We’ll see.”
