Deep grooves from an all Irish cast

Irish producer Michael Lovatt has a flurry of releases scheduled over the coming months, he’s obviously been hard at work in the studio since his move from Dublin to Berlin.

Deep house is the first course on the menu from Lovatt with the ‘Gleamer EP‘ being released on June 17th through Danish label Melonsound. It comprises 2 tracks, Gleam and Solitaire along with accompanying remixes from Dublin’s Andrew Hosey and Sligo’s Johnny Trotter. Vocals on Solitaire are provided by Limerick native Robyn Bromfield of Catscars; which nicely makes this an all Irish affair. Smiley-face with a Paddy-cap.

The original mix of Gleam is all about the driving bassline and snappy percussive intro which evolves with subs, some jabbing chords and a distant filtered vocal urging you to ‘Get Down!’ I’m sure the revelers on the dance floor will happily oblige.
Trotter’s remix offers a tech-housier, bouncier affair with an extended break which is sure to get people shuffling and stomping their feet.

Solitaire continues where Gleam left off with a deep throbbing bassline, snappy percussion and some well timed breaks alongside some suggestive, sleek vocals from Robyn Bromfield.

Hosey’s remix takes us deeper and dirtier with the bassline and vocals while fleshing out the melody by introducing some gentle synth flourishes. Great attention to detail shown in this solid remix from the young Dubliner, by his own admission it’s some of the deepest work he’s released to this date.
