David Guetta And Steve Aoki Set To Star In Flash Gordon EDM Remake

American TV network ABC have announced that they are to make an EDM remake of the popular 80’s science fiction movie Flash Gordon.

The remake will take the format of a six part mini series and will feature original music and sound effects from both David Guetta’s and Steve Aoki’s ghost writers. The EDM stars will also star as the series’ main characters “Flash” Gordon and Ming the Merciless respectively.

ABC’s head of development, Martin Berenbaum, spoke to Wunderground earlier today, “With the 80’s revival very much at the forefront of popular culture we’ve been tirelessly searching for something to remake but every time we came up with an idea somebody else had already remade it.”

“It was really frustrating,” claimed the TV executive. “But now we’ve finally cracked it and we’re really onto a winner with Flash Gordon. We get all the campness of the 80’s with a futuristic twist in the shape of spaceships and music which sounds like it was made by cheap plastic robots,” continued Mr. Berenbaum enthusiastically.

“We’ve recruited David Guetta and Steve Aoki because they have an excellent track record of being successful with music that has little or no creative content or musical integrity,” revealed the ABC spokesperson. “So we’re really confident that even if the show is really bad these guys and their band of loyal, if not stupid, fans will ensure that it’s still a success,” he added.

“Obviously by using David and Steve as our main characters we’re removing the buff and macho look that the movie had in the 80’s,” explained Mr. Berenbaum. “But by replacing it with a more prissy and pampered look we hope to keep the homoerotic appeal of the original and also make it more accessible to a female audience,” he continued.

Sources close to David Guetta have revealed that the EDM star was “delighted” when he received the offer to star in the forthcoming TV mini series because it “involved two of his favourite things – himself and money”. The show is set to hit your screens early in 2015.
