Los Angeles based DJ Deadmau5, has been hospitalised after being violently attacked by Nicole Scherzinger. Former Pussycat Doll, Scherzinger, is in L.A. working on her second solo album and is believed to have attacked the Canadian born producer outside the trendy L.A. restaurant, The Ivy, after an all day drinking session with some friends.
Joel Thomas Zimmerman (Deadmau5) had spoken of the, ‘massive crush!’ he has on the singer, in an interview he gave earlier this year. Scherzinger, who has recently split with Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton, is thought to have attacked Zimmerman after he approached her outside the restaurant to ask for a date.
One bystander said, ‘It all happened so quickly, I was in the restaurant having some food and the girl from TV was sitting opposite us. She was really hammering the alcohol, she must have had at least fifteen shots in the couple of hours we were there. I heard her say something about going around the corner for a pee and next thing I hear a long, loud, shrill screech and a lot of commotion on the sidewalk’
‘I got up to see what was happening and she was on top of the guy scratching at his face. She was really going wild on the dude. I don’t think he was too badly hurt though, he had some stupid looking protective helmet on, made him look like a real dick but it seemed to take the brunt of her attack.’
Despite his headpiece, Zimmerman still sustained a number of injuries, including numerous bites and was brought to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center where he was treated and later discharged.
Scherzinger was questioned by police after the incident but was later released without charge. She had this to say for herself, ‘I want to apologise profusely for what happened, I seen the guy in the mouse hat and I just had to go for him, I was drunk but that’s no excuse, I can’t explain what happened, it was like instinct kicked in and I just couldn’t stop myself.’
