Outspoken electronic music producer Deadmau5 has recently claimed that he “fucking hates” his, soon to be released, eighth studio album and thinks it sounds terrible, Wunderground can now exclusively reveal that so does everyone else who has heard it.
Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, took to Twitter to slam his album last week and claimed that “he’ll just push this one out and start the next one”.
Wunderground caught up with Steve Willis, an engineer at Zimmerman’s Mau5trap record label, “The entire album sounds really awful,” confirmed Willis. “I’ve known Joel for about ten years now and he’s a really talented guy but he’s taken his foot off the gas with this one. I honestly thought that nothing worse than Celine Dion or Justin Bieber would ever come out of Canada but I think Joel may have just proved me wrong.”
“I remember hearing one of the guys from that British band Oasis describe one of their albums as ‘the sound of a bunch of guys, on coke, in the studio not giving a fuck’, if that’s the case I’d say Joel’s album is the sound of one guy, smoking meth in his bedroom with a wanking addiction,” Continued Willis. “It really is that bad, I’m surprised he’s still planning on releasing it.”
According to music expert Michael Bolton, Deadmau5 is unlikely to feel any negative impact on album sales despite publicly criticising his own work.
“The Mau5 is in a really cool and lucky position,” claimed Bolton. “The majority of his fans are total morons who’ll buy, and like, pretty much anything he releases no matter how awful it sounds. He could literally say ‘don’t but this album it’s shit’, in person, to every single one of his fans and it’d still go double platinum. It’s what we call the ‘Steve Aoki’ and has been responsible for some of the worst musicians of all time becoming really successful.”
So far Deadmau5, best known for dressing up as Mickey Mouse for Halloween every year, has refused to speak to us, so, if you’d like to hear his opinion, just keep your eyes on his Twitter feed, he’s sure to shoot his mouth off again soon enough.
