Dimitri Vegas And Like Mike To Sue Spotify Claiming No One Is Listening To Their Music

Demitri Vegas and Like Mike have announced that they are attempting to sue the commercial music streaming website Spotify, claiming that no one is listening to their music on the site.

The EDM duo insist that their online snubbing is a result of a personal vendetta held against them by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek after Dimitri jokingly claimed to have “fucked” Ek’s sister during an interview with DJ Mag in 2011.

However, Gretta Dahl, a spokesperson for Spotify has confirmed that there is no such grudge held by Mr. Ek against Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and has indicated that the lack of plays is a direct result of the “mind numbingly boring and intrinsically childlike” nature of the music they produce.

Miss Dahl explained Spotify’s stance to Wunderground, “The legal action Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have taken against Spotify is of little or no concern to us. To suggest that Daniel Ek would be holding a grudge for an offhanded comment about fucking his sister is ludicrous, especially when Daniel, along with everyone else in the music industry, is aware that Dimitri Thivaois suffers from severe erectile disfunction.”

“Spotify is basically a search engine for music, if no one is searching for Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike tracks then no one is going to be listening to them, it’s as simple as that,” she continued matter of factly. “If Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike want people to listen to their music then I would suggest they try and make something a little more inspiring than, what can only be described as the musical equivalent of Aids, that they are producing now.”

Andrew Bleasdale, an EDM fan and self confessed Spotify addict, was asked if he was aware of any of the Greek-Belgian brother productions on the music streaming website, to which he replied, “Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike aren’t they those magicians who nearly got eaten by a Lion? Oh no wait that’s Seigfried and Roy.”

“Didn’t those guys go that big room track that goes ‘dede dede dede doo doo doo’ and then has a massive drop?” he asked. “Yeah, I don’t like those guys they’re definitely on Spotify but I don’t think anyone listens to them because they’re shit.”

Wunderground has made numerous attempts to contact Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike although so far they have refused to comment, a source close to the brothers has confirmed that they are “far too busy making a pre-recorded opening statement to be used in court” to talk to Wunderground.
