A DJ Booth in Dublin, Ireland, has reportedly suffered extensive damage after a local DJ “smashed it” on Saturday night.
According to witnesses, Michael Stokes, a.k.a. DJ Mick, “absolutely smashed it” during his set in Dublin’s Opium Rooms nightclub.
“I’ve seen some great DJ sets in Dublin over the years,” claimed thirty three year old witness Steven Berry. “But I’ve never seen anyone smash it quite like DJ Mick smashed it there on Saturday, it was just one of those sets where you don’t even remember any of the tunes he played, all you remember was him tearing it up big time.”
Nightclub Manager Fiona Flood claimed that there was over six thousand euros worth of damage to the DJ booth after Mr Stokes’s set.
“You hear stories about DJs smashing it all the time,” explained Ms Flood. “We have DJs smashing it in here at least a couple of times every weekend but you never expect to walk into the DJ box the following morning to find that the DJ actually did smash it. That’s what happened here, the prick made shite of the place.”
“Both of the monitors were on the ground, the mixer looked like he’d been beating it with a hammer and the CDJs looked like he’d been playing table tennis with them using empty glasses as balls,” continued Flood. “We’ve had to cancel all of our gigs for the next three weeks.”
Wunderground also spoke to DJ Mick about the weekend’s incident, “Yeah I proper smashed it at the weekend,” he said proudly. “I totally destroyed the place, I’m pretty sure they’ll invite me back to play there pretty soon, once they repair the place that is.”
Reports suggest that DJs will no longer be permitted to “smash it”, “tear it a new one”, “drop bombs” or “kill it” in DJ Booths.
