The Fox Broadcasting Company have announced that DJ Sneak is to be introduced as a new resident DJ character in their long running hit TV series The Simpsons.
DJ Sneak, who has struggled to find work as an actual DJ recently, is said to be delighted with his latest role.
Wunderground spoke to The Simpsons creator Matt Groening about their latest character earlier today, “We’re delighted to have Sneak on board, we try to have all of our characters as stereotypical as possible and we feel that he perfectly matches our idea of an angry, washed up, Puerto Rican DJ. His real life persona is actually even more of a parody of himself then we needed so, if anything, we may need to tone him down a little bit for the show.”
Sneak is rumoured to have a weekly residence in the show’s Moes Tavern, which Groening suggested is “quite an accurate reflection of the gigs he (Sneak) could expect in real life”.
“The character in the show is going to be a DJ who is extremely angry that the music world has moved on and left him rotting in a dingy little venue in a town nobody wants to go to,” confirmed Groening. “So we feel that Sneak will have no problem playing the part because that’s pretty much what he is in real life.”
“He’ll be a mix between Comic Book Guy and Bumble Bee Man,” revealed Groening, “so he’ll be the perfect mix of racial stereotype and annoyingly obnoxious, with a hint of celebrity. It’s a match made in heaven.
DJ sneak will start work on The Simpson later this month after playing his annual gig at BPM Festival.
