A married couple who both list their occupations as DJs are said to be “beyond disappointment” that their eldest son has chosen to pursue a career as an accountant instead of following in their footsteps and becoming a DJ.
“I’m just shocked. Why he’d walk away from an unrealistic and shaky career as a DJ for a secure, sufficiently paid position as an accountant is beyond comprehension,” wept Sandra Wilkins whose son Sam will start his accountancy course at university this September.
“He never really showed an interest in the decks,” continued Sam’s father, Paul,” but you always hope against hope don’t ya? You hope your kids will ignore college and drop out of school to pursue an unrealistic, almost impossible pipe dream. Seeing him apply himself in school instead of DJing was extremely difficult on his mother. And now he’s heading off to college with a steady career path laid out in front of him….it’s every parent’s worst nightmare.”
Paul went on to say that he’d never turn his back on his son and that the door was always open,” Hopefully at college he’ll snap out of it and realise he’s wasting his life. I mean look at me, I’m living the dream, I play a local over 50s disco on Saturdays and announce bingo numbers on the second Thursday of every month. All of which is more than enough to supplement my social welfare.”
