An American EDM fan has been left utterly devastated after failing to find world famous German nightclub Berghain while visiting Berlin, Wisconsin.
Annie Schmidt, who claims to be a “real EDM fan” because she is 1/17 German, made the 2,000 mile round trip from New York just to visit the illustrious club.
“I’ve always heard that Berghain was hard to get into but what I hadn’t heard was that the reason is because it’s impossible to find,” explained a clearly dejected Miss Schmidt during a chat with Wunderground earlier. “I’ve been looking forward to going for so long and so to finally make it to Berlin and not be able to find the place is a total bummer.”
“It’s a pretty small town and I’m 99% certain that I checked everywhere,” she said matter of factly. “The only explanation that I can come up with is that Berghain is so underground that it’s actually underground, like hell or Australia. I guess it kinda adds to the air of mystery around the place.”
“It’s a real shame though because I’d just spent all my money on kandi jewelry, glow sticks and a really awesome pair of knee high fluffy boots,” revealed Miss Schmidt, who claims her favourite EDM artists are “all the really cool ones”. “Berghain totally wouldn’t have known what hit it. It’s definitely their loss.”
“I’ll probably come back to try and find it again in the future but there are some other totally rad clubs that I’m gonna try first,” continued Miss Schmidt. “I’ve heard Space is really great too so I’m gonna contact NASA about going there next week and there’s another one called Amnesia but I totally can’t remember where that is.”
According to Mike Tumbelbridge, a sixty four year old convenience store owner from Berlin, Wisconsin, Miss Schmidt is not the first EDM fan to mistake the small north-central city for the German capital.
“We get you critters coming through here looking for a Berghain all the time,” explained Mike. “I tell them my shop is the cheapest in the whole city and they’re not gonna find a better bargain anywhere but they never buy anything.”
“I don’t know what a Berghain is but looking at how all those young girls are dressed I definitely want one.”
