A confused EDM fan has been left wondering “where the fuck Hardwell is” after seeing the first phase of the 2016 BPM Festival line up.
Bryce Mitchell, a twenty three year old from Los Angeles, overheard a conversation on the Metro, which claimed that “pretty much every DJ in the world” was on the line up for the festival which takes place in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, between the 8th and 17th of January next year.
“I heard these guys on the Metro talking about some festival called BPM. It mustn’t be very big because I’d never hear of it before and I’ve been to Coachella,” explained Mitchell earlier. “Apparently pretty much every DJ in the world is on the line up. Yeah right! I went home and checked the line up and I couldn’t even find Hardwell on there.”
“I mean, what kind of crappy festival doesn’t even have Hardwell on the line up. He’s, like, the greatest thing to happen to EDM since Nicky Romero,” scoffed Bryce, pictured above, a self confessed molly monster. “So I had a look at the rest of the line up and there’s none of the big guys on there. No David Guetta. No Steve Aoki. Not even Martin Garrix. The guys on the Metro were way off, there’s practically no big DJs on the line up at all.”
“The line up’s full of weird names like Maceo Plex and Mano le Tough, do they even have EDM in France?, or Guy Gerber and Sasha. Who are these guys?” asked the bewildered young man. “The only name I recognised on it was Richie Hawtin but he’s like number sixty, or something, on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs so he can’t be that good.”
“If there was any good DJs playing I’d probably make the trip down to Mexico, maybe they’re saving all the big names for phase two of their line up,” he added. “But if not I guess I’ll just have to wait and go to Coachella again, or maybe even Electric Daisy Carnival, next year.”
