Homesick DJ Cancels Tour After Missing Personal Studio
A homesick DJ has today cancelled all of his upcoming gigs after becoming mortally depressed having spent so much time away from his personal studio.
“It’s hard being a touring DJ and producer because you have to spend so much time on the road away from the things that really matter in life, namely your personal studio,” confirmed deep house producer Obtuse. “I’ve lost friends and family in life and none of them have hit me as hard as having to spend time away from the studio that I love.”
“I miss it’s smell, I miss how it’s always there for me and never turns me away or leaves me,” explained a tearful Obtuse. “It’s been there through good times and bad, quite literally making sweet music together and I can’t stand to be away from it for more than a few days at a time so for that reason I’m cancelling my tour.”
Obtuse claims that he can use his laptop when on the road to make beats but that “it’s just not the same as being there with the studio, laughing and playing together” and that “it almost feels like I’m cheating on Sheila, which is my name for my studio. I just want to be back inside Sheila where it’s safe and warm”.
“I like to try and keep the relationship alive when I’m not there by posting pics of the studio and treating it right by buying new pieces of kit, you know, to keep the spice and romance in the relationship,” added Obtuse.
“I think it’s nice to maintain the studio and while it is high maintenance I’d never leave it for a younger, more professional studio,” he confessed. “I’m jus too deeply in love with it.”
“Without my studio,” he concluded. “I’d just be a DJ, and not a DJ/producer. Sometimes we fight but we always make up and the making up makes the fight worth it. It completes me.”
