Welsh deep house poster boy Jamie Jones reportedly missed the start of a set after being caught playing computer games in the toilets of Extrema Outdoor festival in Houthalen, Belgium, last weekend.
Jones, who was due to play on the festival’s ??? stage on ???? night, is believed to have missed his time slot after becoming enthralled in the video games located in the festival’s unique Toilet Xperience urinals.
“Jamie really loves video games,” explained Jones’s fellow Hot Creations co-founder Lee Foss. “Usually he’ll avoid toilets like the plague at festivals but as soon as he heard there were video games that you can play while you’re pissing he made a beeline straight for them.”
“He got really wrapped up in a racing car game that you can control by pissing from side to side,” continued Foss. “He really wanted to beat the highscore which was set by someone called Pizzy24/7 and he must have drank at least twenty litres of water to keep up the pace.”
“At one stage there was a crowd of about thirty or forty people standing around watching him go to the toilet,” revealed Foss. “On any other occasion that would have seemed weird and he would have been embarrassed about his weirdly shaped penis but he was so caught up in the game he didn’t even notice.”
According to event organisers the crowd of people was not the only thing Jones, pictured above playing Football Manager during a gig, didn’t notice as he missed the start of his set by twenty minutes.
“Normally we like artists to show up for their sets about an hour before they are due to start,” revealed artist liaison Julia Magath. “So when it got to ten minutes before Jamie’s set we started to get really worried.”
“We knew he was with Lee Foss so we automatically presumed he was after drinking too much and passing out somewhere,” continued Ms. Magath. “So we sent out a search party to look for him in all the bars and backstage areas that served alcohol but we couldn’t find him anywhere. It was only when one of the team stopped off for a pee that we finally noticed him.”
“We had to physically remove him from the toilets,” claimed Julia. “He has a really powerful jet, there was piss everywhere. Eventually we got him to the stage twenty minutes after he was due to begin but he just didn’t seem interested, his mind was definitely on the game while he was playing. At one point he picked up the mike and started to make engine noises to the crowd.”
According to Ms. Magath, Jamie Jones, who is also due to play at Extrema Outdoor in Aquabest, Eindhoven, on July 11th, has been banned from using the Toilet Xperience at al future Extrema gigs until after he has played.
