Reports from the North Korean Central News Agency today have confirmed that Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un, has had a record breaking six thousandth Billboard Chart Number 1.
The news means that Kim Jong-un has held the top spot on the coveted music chart exclusively since taking over the leadership of the country following his father’s death in December 2011.
“It’s great to see Kim Jong-un following in his father’s footsteps, who himself had over twenty thousand Number 1 hits and held onto the top spot for over seventeen years,” claimed Pak Man-wu, North Korea’s Minister for Propaganda and Pop Music. “At the rate he’s going he may even surpass his father’s achievements some day and become the greatest pop star of all time.”
The latest track, a Kim Jong-un original titled Hit Me Baby One More Time, sold a record breaking 65 million copies Worldwide during the first day of it’s release.
“I really love the track,” continued Minister Pak-Man-wu. “But the real beauty of it lies in the video. Who would have though the Supreme Leader would look so good with pigtails and a girl’s school uniform? No one thought he would have the legs to pull it off but he does.”
According to musical analysts in Pyongyan, Hit Me Baby One More Time’s reign at the top of the Billboard Chart could be short lived after another Kim Jong-un original, Wonderwall, has been made odds on favourite to be a number one hit by this time tomorrow.
