Sources have revealed that American DJ, Maceo Plex, is to undergo an audit from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The audit will look at the Miami native’s tax returns, dating back to 2011. Sources from inside the IRS have indicated that there have been a number of discrepancies in the producer’s tax declarations and a figure, believed to be as high as one and a half million dollars, could be outstanding.
Matt Kofferman, of the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration or TIGTA, spoke of the impending audit, “The IRS have informed Mr. Eric Estornel that he is to be audited in relation to tax returns dating back to 2011. Mr. Estornel now has thirty days to present the relative information to his audit inspector. Failure to comply with these requests could result in a custodial sentence or even jail time.”
A source inside the IRS also spoke about Maceo Plex’s case, “I wouldn’t want to be that guy. The IRS have a file as thick as Steve Aoki on him, if he’s found guilty he could face a minimum jail sentence of two years plus a huge fine. Earlier this year we received a tip off from some angry Russian woman. I think her name was Nina Krannowiz or Kraviz, something like that. Anyway the guy must have really pissed her off because she came in and totally blew the lid on a very effective scam he’d been working.”
“It turns out the guy has been collecting two fees for every show he’s played since 2011. We’ve been looking through the accounts of some of the American promotions companies that have been hiring him and every time he plays he’s getting paid for Maceo Plex back to back with Maetrik. We don’t know who this Maetrik guy is but he certainly hasn’t been paying any tax,” claimed the taxman.
Maceo Plex, currently seeing out the summer season in Ibiza, also commented on the matter, “The IRS are total tools. I don’t think they realise that I am Maetrik, they think he’s some sort of patsy set up for tax evasion. They can audit me all they want, I’m 100% sure that all my returns are in order,” he claimed confidently.
“So what if I’ve been playing back to back with Maetrik and getting paid twice? In my head I really have been doing it, that’s why my Maceo Plex sets have seemed a lot darker recently,” claimed the DJ. “If Nina Kraviz, or anyone else, has a problem with this they should take it up with me instead of going crying to the god damn IRS,” he said aggressively.
