A man who was recently diagnosed with a debilitating flesh eating virus is unsure whether or not he’ll have his ideal “beach bod” for a planned trip to Ibiza later this month.
Adam Clarke, from Dublin, Ireland, was diagnosed with the rare illness after swimming in contaminated water in a local canal three weeks ago and has been undergoing intensive treatment ever since.
Wunderground spoke to Mr Clarke, “I’m really looking forward to my trip to Ibiza, it’s just a shame that I might not have the beach bod that I’d been hoping for while I’m over there. I had been putting in a lot of work in the gym to make sure that my upper body was really on point for the holiday but now this bleeding virus is after setting me back at least a month.”
“I’m going in three weeks and I’m still in the poxy hospital so the doctors would want to get their act together and cure me so I can get back to bench pressing and curls and try to get ripped,” explained a bed ridden Clarke. “I’ve a hole the size of an orange in my leg too and that’ll probably take a week or two to heal so I’m in a bit of a rush, you now what I mean?”
“Even if I am still a bit sick and not quite in peak physical condition, I’ll still be going to Ibiza, there’s no way I’m missing out on the chance to show of my new tattoos in a different country,” continued the hospital patient. “I don’t care if I have to get carried into Ocean Beach on a hospital bed, I’ll definitely be there this time in three weeks, sipping cocktails, or at least having them fed to me through an IV drip.”
According to doctors, Mr Clarke has “zero percent” chance of making it to Ibiza this month and he’ll be lucky if he makes it out of hospital at all before the end of the summer, although, on the plus size, his body mass index is likely to be significantly reduced by the effects of the virus.
