Mano Le Tough Is ‘Not Actually That Tough’ Claims Former Rugby Teammate

Greystones rugby player Ciaran McCormac has shocked the electronic music industry by claiming that Mano Le Tough is ‘not actually that tough.’

McCormac, who went to secondary school with the Irish producer, made the audacious claims to a random stranger at a house party last weekend, “I didn’t even know it was him at first, I thought he was some French lad. Then one day I read something about him in The Bray People, I couldn’t believe it.”

“I like his music and all but I don’t know where he gets his name from,” said a bemused Mr. McCormac. “I mean I can understand the Mano bit, that’s what we used to call him in school because his name was Mannion but the Le Tough bit, that’s a bit confusing, we played rugby together and I always remember him being a bit of a wimp, he’s not actually that tough at all. Maybe it’s an ironic thing like when you call a big lad ‘Tiny’ or something,” he said speculatively.

The news comes as a surprise as Mano Le Tough has earned a reputation as one of the the music industry’s hard men in recent years. Fellow DJ, Kerri Chandler, spoke of the Irishman’s bad boy reputation, “Oh most definitely. Everyone knows Mano is a hard bastard! If he tells you that he wants to get in and set up in the booth during your set, you let him do it. He doesn’t waste time with Twitter feuds he gets shit done with his duke, at least that’s what I’ve heard. Nobody I know has ever taken any chances with him because we’ve all heard the rumours about him being a hard ass. It’s like when people say, ‘tough’ is my middle name. It’s his surname but the effect is still the same.”

“I’ve played with him a couple of times and he’d just come up behind you and whisper in your ear, things like, ‘I’ll bleeding burst you!’ Or, ‘Do you know who I am?’ He’s a big guy and quite intimidating. I’m not sure to believe that he’s not that tough, it could just be some drunk guy at a party talking shit. I don’t think I’m going to take any chances with it,” admitted the DJ.

EDM rebel, Deadmau5, has also chipped in with an opinion on the recent revelations, “I fucking knew it, I’m a real tough guy and I can smell fear. If he ever tries any of his intimidation tactics with me I’ll show him what a real hard man looks like, and that’s a guy in a giant mouse shaped piece of headgear.”
