A maverick sound engineer has shocked tens of people during a recent sound check by audaciously counting all the way to six.
The incident happened during the lead up to a show by a David Guetta tribute act, called Gavid Duetta, in a community center in Rochdale, England, last weekend.
Eyewitness Michael Stapleton explained the incident, “I’m a bit of a sound enthusiast so I always try and show up for shows early to see the different techniques the sound engineers use during their sound checks.”
“I’ve been to thousands of them now at this stage so I guess you could say I’m a sound check expert,” claimed Mr. Stapelton, a thirty four year old idiot. “Even though I don’t have a clue what they’re actually doing, I just like to hear loud noises over the sound system before everyone else shows up, it helps me feel like I’m getting good value for my ticket price, something that would be impossible to do at a David Guetta tribute act otherwise” he added.
“I’ve heard all sorts,” claimed Stapelton the simpleton, “usually it’s just your normal ‘testing, testing, one, two’ or sometimes you get ‘one, two, one, two, testing, one, two’ or some sort of variation of that,” he explained. “Sometimes if your lucky you get people going up to three or four and I even heard a guy say ‘wozzy, wazzy, wozzy, wazzy’ once, that was brilliant.”
“But I’ve never heard anyone count all the way up to six before,” revealed Mr. Stapleton. “That’s just mental that is. I was looking around at all the other people who were there and none of them really seemed bothered at all,” he shockingly continued, “but speaking as someone who knows his sound checks I can tell you that it’s not normal, he didn’t just do it once either he counted to six four or five times.”
“I had to leave early, I couldn’t stay and listen to a sound system knowing that it had been checked like that,” he angrily revealed. “I guess it wouldn’t matter as much to people who were there too see Gavid Duetta because being David Guetta fans I suppose most of them probably can’t even count to six anyway but I was only there for the sound check and it was one of the worst I’ve ever heard.”
According to other witnesses the show was said to be a complete disaster after Gavid Duetta shocked fans by actually mixing during his set, with one source claiming, “it just didn’t have that authentic Guetta cheesball feel”.
