Global fast food giant McDonalds is the latest in a string of corporations to attempt to profit from the American EDM explosion as they announced plans for an ‘EDM themed Happy Meal’ tentatively titled, ‘Ecstasy Meals’.
The meal is designed to mimic the various substances and items that a typical EDM fan supplies themselves with for a show.
A McDonalds spokeswoman enthused about the idea, ‘Well we know that EDM fans like to dance rather than eat so we’ve tried to cater to the target audience by including high sugar foods like Pez, Chupa Chups and Dip-Dab to provide a rush of energy for weary ravers.’
‘To drink customers will be able to choose from Red Bull, water or Gatorade to keep them hydrated while they dance.’
‘Essentially there is no nutritional value in the meal as it’s designed to keep people pepped up and enjoying themselves. McDonalds is keen to highlight its new healthier approach to diet and we think that nothing is healthier than dancing all night at EDM parties. It’s very slimming.’
‘That’s why with every meal customers will receive a set of glowsticks, as well as a whistle to show their appreciation to the DJs on stage antics and a tub of Vick’s Vapo Rub to help them breathe easily while dancing.’
The meal is set to be launched at next year’s Coachella Music Festival.
