English comedian and TV presenter Michael Barrymore is set to make another attempted career comeback by hosting a one off EDM pool party in his Essex home.
Barrymore, once seen as the godfather of primetime British broadcasting, has seen his career dwindle over the last decade and, despite a runner-up’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2005, has so far failed to rekindle the heights he reached in the late 90s.
“Michael absolutely loves being in the public spotlight,” claimed fellow 90’s TV personality Les Dennis. “At our age the best we can hope for is some sort of sex abuse scandal to put us back in the shop window but Michael’s been there and wore the t-shirt and he wants some actual work instead of just dragging his name through the dirt again.”
“He just really wants to be back on the telly,” continued Dennis. “So much so that he’s willing to host a cheesy EDM themed pool party from his house. I certainly wouldn’t do it, I’ve always been more of a techno man myself, I mean house is alright too but EDM? No thank you! We asked 100 people what they think of EDM and our survey said, Eeeeerrrrhhh Eaaaarrrrrrhhh!” he added with a chuckle.
“Now all he has to do is find a partner who’s willing to film the party and put it on the TV,” claimed the former Family Fortunes host, who described current host Vernon Kay as a “manky Bolton streak of piss”. “For some reason he’s finding it hard to find anyone willing to get involved with a Barrymore pool party but I’m sure something will pop up, I’ve heard Geordie Shore are interested.”
It is understood Barrymore has lined up a host of EDM superstars to play the pool party, set to be entitled We’ve Got A Floater, including “Scottish dry-shite” Calvin Harris and “Dutch Whizz-kid” Martin Garrix. Both of whom, according to Barrymore, “would look awight floating in [his] pool in a pair of tight speedos”.
