American electronic music veteran Moby has shocked his fans by posting a non-vegan related Facebook status.
The music producer made the uncharacteristic social media update, which is believed to have been music related, at approximately 4pm Eastern Time yesterday, the post has since been removed.
Wunderground spoke to one distressed fan, “I didn’t really have a clue what was happening. At first, I thought it must have been a mistake so I hit the refresh button a couple of times but it was no use. Moby actually posted a link to a music video. It was really upsetting because usually he just posts stuff about being a vegan.”
“I’m a vegan too and I constantly tell people that I’m vegan and that’s what I’ve come to expect from other vegans,” continued the clearly upset fan. “If we don’t constantly remind people about our veganism they won’t know we’re vegan, so when Moby put up that horrible post he flipped my whole world upside down. Is he a vegan or is he a record producer? Am I vegan? I honestly can’t tell what’s real and what’s not anymore. I was within inches of eating a cheeseburger last night, the only thing that stopped me was a video about battery farms that Brad Pitt posted on Pinterest.”
Another Moby fan claimed she didn’t even know the Connecticut native was a music producer until he posted the status, “I thought it was really weird that the bald animal rights activist guy was posting an EDM song, he really doesn’t seem the type of person who would listen to that stuff. I always had him down for a country fan.”
“Then I noticed that the guy in the video looked a lot like him so I done some research and it turns out that he’s actually a musician. I unfollowed him shortly afterwards. I really don’t like to mix veganism and pleasure.”
Moby has yet to comment on the issue, although he has posted fifteen comments about being a vegan since the ill fated status was removed.
