A local promoter has left his online social circle in shock after he shared a track from an artist who he didn’t have booked to play a gig in the near future.
It is not yet clear whether Robert Roache, who vigorously promotes his club night, Strictly Strict, on all social media platforms, shared the track by accident, however, initial reports indicate that Mr. Roache just “really likes that song”.
One independent observer who witnessed Mr. Roache’s maverick social media activity claimed “it was weird as fuck” and the total opposite of what they’d come to expect from the promoter.
“Well I don’t know the lad apart from on Facebook,” claimed the anonymous witness. “But I was really shocked to see him post a track that didn’t have a flimsy relationship to his club night or DJ’s he was booking as, I’m sure, were all of his other three thousand Facebook friends. I hope he’s OK.”
Sources close to Mr. Roache, claim that he is slightly embarrassed but completely remorseless about the incident.
“It was well strange, my newsfeed is constantly full of, not so subtle, reminders of who Bobbie’s got booked in to play at his night,” claimed friend and occasional Strictly Strict clubber Ian Pearson. “So I had to double check when I seen him share that Cotton Eye Joe track, I never thought I’d see him put the likes of that up on Facebook, especially not when he’s got Waze & Odyssey coming over next week.”
“If I didn’t know Bobbie, and how big a Rednex fan he is, I definitely would have thought that he’d put it up by mistake,” continued Mr. Pearson. “But lets just say if it hadn’t of been for that Cotton Eye Joe track he never would have been into dance music and probably wouldn’t have become a promoter. He’d most likely be living a boring life, in a dead end job and been married a long time ago. He really owes a lot to that track.”
Mr Roache, has so far refused to be drawn into a response in the comments section of his post, however, he has been quoted as saying he’d “share the track again if he got half a chance”.
