Mick Hucknall has shocked the entertainment industry by announcing that he is set to make a comeback as Chucky from the popular Child’s Play movie franchise.
The comeback has been popular with washed out pop singers in recent years, with artists like The Backstreet Boys and Chesney Hawkes having tried desperately to rekindle their music careers. However, this is the first time that anyone has tried to make a comeback as a fictional puppet and Hucknall is set to have his work cut out convincing, both his own and Child’s Play, fans that he is capable of carrying off the role.
The former Simply Red frontman, pictured above dressed as Chucky at a Halloween party last year, explained his announcement, “I’ve wanted to do a comeback for quite a while now. I’m rich but I’m not as rich as I could be so a comeback should help me get a little closer to where I want to be.”
“I’m a little bit sick of the music industry at the moment and I’ve been a huge fan of Chucky’s ever since I seen Child’s Play back in the 80’s,” he explained. “Plus there’s the fact that I look exactly like Chucky so this just seemed like the natural route for my comeback to take.”
Mick claims that he is confident that he’ll be able to pull off the role of Chucky telling us that he “already has a Chucky costume at home” and that no make up or hair extensions will be needed to make him seem like a disfigured grotesque having already got the blotchy, pitted face of a habitual drinker.
“There’s something about his eternal youth and total disregard for human life that is really appealing to me,” continued Hucknall with a sadistic tone. “I often wonder what I would of done if I hadn’t been a singer and it’s clear to me now that I would have would been a serial killer.”
“I just choose to murder songs instead of people, it’s handy because it comes without the risk of getting raped in prison, which would have been a big problem for a pretty boy like me,” he added.
Hucknall is believed to have started his comeback last weekend, although so far nobody has noticed any difference.
