Steve Angelo’s upcoming tour dates have been jeopardised after the Swedish DJ was arrested during a raid by Homeland Security .
Although the details surrounding the former Swedish House Mafia star’s arrest are unclear it is believed that he has been under surveillance for some time. A source inside the National Security Agency explains, “The NSA have had an eye on this individual for some time now, he was one of the first people to be flagged by PRISM.
PRISM, the information collecting program used by the NSA, famously leaked to the press by whistle blower and dubstep legend Edward Snowden/Burial earlier this year, can be used to find potential threats to Homeland Security by detecting certain words in online communications. “Alarm bells started to ring with this guy after we intercepted Facebook statuses where he’d say things like, ‘Gonna drop this absolute bomb tonight,’ or ‘Got some new weapons to attack the dance floor with this weekend, can’t wait!!’” continued the NSA agent. “When we encounter things like that we immediately flag them and that person becomes a person of interest.”
“When we dug a little deeper we discovered that he seemed to have connections with organised crime. We weren’t even aware that there was a Swedish House Mafia before we came across this guy but it seems they committed a series of gruesome hits,” he commented. “We knew we had our guy when we seen he had a beard and long hair, apart from being white he fits the profile of a terrorist perfectly and he is kind of tanned so we hauled his ass in,” he said proudly.
It is not known how long Angelo will be held by Homeland Security but there is already major doubt surrounding his show in Las Vegas’ XS Nightclub, scheduled for 26 October, and some sources are even suggesting that a spell in Guantanamo Bay is not out of the question.
Former band mate and close friend, Axwell, commented on Angelo’s arrest, “I’ve known Steve for years and I’m one hundred percent certain sure that he’s not a terrorist. Sure there have been a few remixes he’s done where I’ve thought, ‘he’s really murdering that tune,’ and I’ve never seen anyone capable of killing the atmosphere in room quicker than him. But a terrorist? I don’t think so,” said a clearly concerned Axwell.
Angelo’s arrest could be the beginning of a large scale investigation into the EDM scene with accusations of crimes against music rife amongst the industry’s leading stars.
