Following a number of successful extended sets at the Greenwich based Ibizian embassy, VIVa boss Steve Lawler is set to push himself and 3000 others to the extremities of stamina and on-one-ness with an uninterrupted week long set at Studio 338 this month.
Lawler is prepared to set aside musical prejudices for the David Blaine-esque fete of human endurance by playing practically every piece of music with anything even vaguely resembling a 4/4 beat that has ever been made.
Wunderground spoke to Lawler about his ambitious plans earlier this week, “The week long extended set is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time now but, for whatever reason, I’ve never felt that I was at the right point in my career to do it, up until now that is.”
“Obviously I’ll have to explore all different genres of electronic music to play a 168 hour set,” explained Lawler, who seemed to be slightly preoccupied with drawing a small doodle of a penis on a record sleeve. “I guess before I was always worried about how playing different types of music would affect my image, whereas now I know I’ve worked long and hard enough at this game not to give a fuck about any of that. I’ll play what I like and if people don’t like it they can fuck off and go somewhere else for the week.”
According to Studio 338 management work has already began customising their famous Lord of the Rings inspired DJ hut to cater for a week long DJ Set.
“We’ll have to make a number of adjustments to the DJ booth,” confirmed spokesperson James Eccles. “The biggest change will see a fully functioning toilet being installed, we’ll also be donating all of the raw sewage collected over the week to Steve Aoki fans so they can dance in it at his British gigs this summer giving them a much more immersive experience of shit.”
“We were going to fit a bed because Steve reckons he can mix in his sleep these days,” continued the Studio 338 employee, “but we just don’t have the space so we’ll go with the next best thing, which is to fit Steve with a tequila drip and supply him with about ten gallons of Red Bull and a trough of ‘nose enhancer’ to snuffle around in. It’s pretty much a standard diet for A DJ anyway and has everything you need to get you through a week long set.”
“Naturally we’ll have a defibrillator in the DJ box too, I don’t think there’s many around these days that don’t have one fitted to be honest with you, apparently DJ Sneak can’t even mix without without taking two or three hits before his shows.”

Lawler is said to be preparing for the gig by taking part in a montage based 80’s movie style training scene in which he at first fails but is eventually able to successfully scale the Studio 338 Terrace in a leather waistcoat whilst Anek and Detlef cheer him on from the sides.
