Belgian house DJ and producer The Magician has reportedly been kicked out of an afterparty after performing his trademark “white lines disappearing act”.
According to party sources, The Magician, real name Stephen Fasano, has gained a reputation for performing a number of unpopular disappearing acts at both gigs and afterparties.
Afterparty organiser Gerald Davis claimed that he had to “politely ask” the DJ to leave the party after the disappearing act went down like a “social media intern in a record label executive’s office”.
“Some generous fella had passed around a plate with enough white lines on it for everybody at the party,” explained Gerald earlier. “Everyone was in great form, the plate got passed to Stephen, he turned around, six seconds later turned back around, said ‘ta-da’ and held the plate above his head. The cunt had sniffed everybody’s lines.”
“There must have been about fifteen of them on the plate. He was walking around annoying everyone, talking nonsense and dry humping every girl in the room’s leg,” continued Davis. “I had to politely ask him to leave, he refused so I got Vlad, my chief of security, to kick him out.”
It is not clear whether or not The Magician’s future bookings will be affected by his growing “party-pooper” reputation. However, one gig that he will almost certainly still be playing at is the Together presents Potion takeover in London’s Ministry of Sound on Saturday 20 February.
“We love The Magician and all of his magic,” claimed Ministry’s creative director Wendy Haus. “I saw him pull a £2 coin out of Steve, one of our intern’s, ear. It was amazing, I’ve seen Steve use the vending machine before and there’s no way he keeps his change inside his head so I don’t know where the money came from, it must have been magic. It’s going to be such a good night when The Magician plays here later this month.”
Rumours circulating within the industry suggest that Fasano and Chris Lorenzo, who is also booked to play in Ministry of Sound on the same night, are set to do a back to back magic show in the Box, which will see Lorenzo pull fully produced Hannah Wants tracks out of a top hat.
