Reports from the canine community this morning have revealed that the world’s happiest dog, Blitz the Pit Bull, has had a bit of a “ruff life”.
Speaking from his plush kennel, with built in bed and water bowl, Blitz revealed that his early life as a London based Pit Bull was more chains and rain than fetch and bones.
“Not a lot of people know this but I’m actually a rescue dog,” admitted Blitz, who was recently made the face of London photographer Alex De Mora’s latest project, highlighting London’s rescued pets and their owners. “You obviously wouldn’t think it to look at me, because I’m shockingly handsome and constantly smiling, but the first year of my life was pretty grim.”
“Thankfully I met Shen, my owner, about twenty years ago, I think that’s about three human years, and things have been great ever since.”
Blitz spent the first year of his life living in a breeder’s yard where he was underfed and chained up, leaving him undeveloped and malnourished.
“It was tough in the yard,” continued the Pit Bull. “When I was a pup I used to blame my mum on the conditions we lived in but as I’ve gotten older and wiser I’ve stopped thinking like that. Yeah, she was a bit of a bitch but it wasn’t her fault, she had a bad owner.”
“I still remember the day some kids jumped over the wall and lifted me out over the fence like it was yesterday. I didn’t have a clue what was going on, I thought I was being abducted by aliens or something but then they started being kind to me. No human had ever been nice to me before so that was really cool. Later that day they introduced me to Shen and we fell in love straight away and have been together ever since.”
Blitz is hoping to make his mark on London’s canine modeling world and sees the work he has done with De Mora as the perfect foot in the door he has been waiting for.
“It’s been great working with Alex,” revealed the smiling dog. “And I’ve just found out that my photo, along with Alex’s entire project, is going to be featured on Parallel, a brand new platform launched by Generator Hostel that gives young creatives a place to share their work, so this gorgeous face is going to be all over the internet. Who knows I could be the next Tyson Beckford, or even Tyson Barkford.”
