The International Little People Association or IPLA have today announced a total overhaul of their organisation which will see them adopt Green Velvet’s recent hit Bigger Than Prince as their official theme music.
Association members have claimed that the organisation, established in the 1950’s to help promote equal opportunities amongst little people, needed to be brought into the twenty first century and they feel that replacing the Oompla Loompa song, from the cult classic movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with the Green Velvet’s club hit as a definite step in the right direction.
IPLA spokesperson Tyrion Lannister, also known as the actor Peter Dinklage, spoke about the recent announcement, “It’s a great day for us here at IPLA, the move is all about modernising the association and moving forward.”
“It’s a very significant song for us because approximately forty percent of our members are actually bigger than Prince,” claimed the Game of Thrones actor. “It’s important for to us to show the world that little people aren’t always necessarily the smallest people out there and if we can be bigger than someone with as high a stature as Prince who’s to say who we’ll be bigger than next. It could be Tom Cruise or even Danny DeVito, who knows?”
“We’re still split between the Hot Since 82 and Martinez Brothers remixes, but it’s just nice to know that we’ll have a modern and popular track as our theme music,” continued Lannister. “It’s also nice to know that if we want to dance to our theme music we won’t be mistaken for performing monkeys, which happened quite a lot with our previous song.”
Other changes to the organisation will see the maximum height requirement rise from four foot eight inches to five foot and replacing Darby O’Gill and the Little People with the Tom Hanks classic Big as official movie.
