Jessie J Admits Singing Career Was “Just A Phase”

British songstress Jessie J today came out as a normal non-musical person after admitting that her singing career, which saw her top the charts around the world, was just an experimental phase which is now over.

“I think writing songs, singing, touring and doing all those things that a singer does were just an adolescent experiment for me, but now I’ve found something that I really enjoy doing and I’m ready to settle into that,” confided Jessie J, who says that now that she has called time on her singing career she’s going to follow her true inclination and become a dancer full time.

“I was living a lie being both a singer and a dancer,” claimed the formerly bi-performer,” in the end I just had to admit to myself that I was far more comfortable just being a dancer and not singing.”

“The whole thing started when I was just dancing one day and started singing along while doing my moves,” continued Jessie, “and suddenly I get noticed and everyone starts bandying around that I’m a singer/dancer, which I admit I was for a time, but that time is ended,” added the now full time dancer.

Fans and fellow performers are furious at the singer’s admission claiming that “a person can’t just change their career orientation at the drop of a hat”, insisting that her announcement is a “slap in the mouth of singers/dancers” everywhere.

“I can’t believe it,” decried one fan, “she was a role model to young singer/dancers everywhere and gave them hope and focus, a role model to aspire to be. Every day young singer/dancers are ridiculed in this country and discriminated against across the world all because they have angelic singing voices and choreographed dance moves. Who will they look to now?”

Fans and commentators alike have said that her coming out as a dancer is a massive blow by the fact that she has so distanced herself from the singing community as if it was “distasteful and something to be ashamed of”.

Jessie J concluded by saying that she meant “no disrespect to those who identify as both singers and dancers” and insisted she is still an advocate for singer/dancer rights before asking on Twitter whether she “should have lied about identifying as a singer” and saying that she wanted to drop the matter completely to focus on “finding a dance studio to settle down with”.
