DC10 Announce Ambitious Plans To “Go To 11”

Ibiza club DC10 has today announced pioneering plans for the coming summer season that will see the popular club “go all the way to 11”.

“We’ve been going to 10 for years and we’re a bit sick of it,” claimed DC10 spokesperson Andrea Pelino. “This year we wanted to give something extra special to the clubbers so, after several months of brainstorming and rubbished ideas, we decided to keep with our spartan outlook and keep it simple so instead of going to 10 we’ll be going to 11.”

“It’s beautiful in its simplicity and that’s an aesthetic we’ve always chased,” he continued. “Don’t get me wrong 10 is a great number, it’s the top of most people’s rating systems for albums, restaurants or tracks, it’s the age when people start to get pubes and it’s the amount of fingers and toes people have, but it’s just not quite as high as 11.”

“10 is passé in comparison to 11,” he elaborated. “It’s divisible by so many other numbers like 1, 2, 5 and itself and it’s even. That’s just a bit too conformist for the spirit we want to promote this year and 11, being only divisible by itself and 1 stands out as something different, something unique, so it’s perfect.”

Before coming up with the groundbreaking idea of simply going one digit higher, Andrea says that they went through a lot of other ideas all of which “essentially made puns on the name of the club so there were things like CD10, DCTEN and Marvel10 but all were abandoned in favour of just going to 11.”

Andrea claims that the club will change name from DC10 to DC11 in a bid to highlight the dramatic change in outlook and says that they have even commissioned some specially crafted speakers that “go all the way up to 11, rather than 10. So that when you need that extra kick you can go to 11. Just like that film from the 80s with the guy with the powerful amplifiers….Back To The Future”.

“The speakers have been built by Funktion1 as part of the new and exclusive Funktion11 range,” concluded Andrea. “I’ve heard them and they sound incredible, a lot like speakers at a maximum volume of 10, but slightly louder.”

  1. Actually DC11 already exists and has done for some 5 Years plus in the northeast of England, bringing techno tinged grooves to the likes of Middlesbrough, hartlepool even hosting additional rooms and supporting bullet dodge records nights in Newcastle, and supporting community driven festivals in towns such as Crook, surely these people cannot just change their name and force out the little man, we are a non profit outfit who love that we are able to throw free parties under this name after all about the music! Surely an organisation such as DC10 cannot just adopt a change without research and discussion!
