Greece 2000 A Lot Better Than Greece 2015 – Confirms Three Drives

Dutch progressive trance duo, Three Drives, have claimed that the state of Greece in the year 2000 was a lot better than the current state of Greece 2015.

The claims come on the eve of one of the most important days in Greek history, as the public go to the polls to decide whether or not to meet the terms of their IMF bailout.

“When we originally wrote the song back in 1999 Greece was in great shape,” claimed duo member Ton van Empel. “The economy seemed to be booming, tourists were pouring in, they were preparing for the Olympics, it just seemed great. Nowadays it’s more like an unemployed lad you went to school with who always asks you to buy him a pint when you meet him down the pub.”

“We actually met in Greece back in 1997,” added fellow member Erik de Koning. “We were really inspired by the beauty of the country and the people. That’s how we ended up with such a beautiful song. If we were to make it today we’d probably have ended up with something like what Steve Aoki or a gifted 5-year-old would make.”

“We actually make more in royalties from the song in a month than the average Greek worker takes home in a year since the austerity measures they’ve had to endure,” continued de Koning. “So when we say Greece 2000 is a lot better than Greece 2015 we’re not just talking about the Hellenistic paradise of the year 2000 but also the song.”

“Let’s just hope the people over there see sense and stop bending over and taking anal punishment off these European fat cat cunts,” van Empel chipped in. “Maybe that way we’ll see them restored to their former glory sooner rather than later.”

According to Greek Prime minister Alexis Tsipras, if the county votes no he will consider changing the national anthem to Greece 2000 until they regain the status they held at the turn of the century.
