An English father is believed to be one hundred percent behind his daughters DJ career after hearing exactly how much she earns.
Roy McGuinness, a retired council worker, claims that he had initially hoped his daughter would take on a more conventional job, although he has since had a change of heart.
“I’ll be honest with you, I’m proper old school and I’d always hoped that my little girl would grow up to do a ladies job, like be a housewife, a secretary or a primary school teacher,” McGuinness explained to Wunderground. “I’m not gonna lie, when she told me she wanted to be a DJ, I thought she was messing.”
“I honestly didn’t even realise it was an actual job until quite recently, so naturally I told her to stop her messing and go out and find a real job,” continued the father of three. “Just like usual, she didn’t listen to a word I said and, thankfully, she decided to keep going and now she’s actually getting a bit of work as a DJ.”
“You wouldn’t believe how much they pay them to just play a few songs at a disco,” said a bemused looking Mr McGuinness. “She’s getting paid £300 to show up, drink for free and play music for a couple of hours. That’s mental, and she’s only starting out, imagine what she’ll be earning in four or five years.”
“When I was her age, I would have had to work for about a month to make that much money, and I would have broken my back doing it too,” he claimed. “She goes to a dance, has a few drinks, plays some music and gets paid, she’s basically doing what I used to do to relax after work as a job, sometimes I just don’t get this world.”
Reports suggest that Mr McGuinness’s continued support will depend on
from his daughter making constant contributions to his “drinking fund”.
